$2,500.00 – $2,850.00Price range: $2,500.00 through $2,850.00
In 2017, myself and Mike Vidovich designed the first 79er mixed wheel hardtails. We made over a dozen prototypes with varying geometry and over the course of a year, and with the help of the STRAVA app, we were able to choose the prototype that was consistently fastest.
We chose to manufacture these frames in Titanium for the unique compliance and incredible strength to weight that the material offers.
They were designed to be able to run 3.0 tires and a 38T chainring for a wide range of versatility.
Depending on the fork travel (100mm, 120mm, 150mm, 160mm) they can be setup as a Slopestyle, X-Country, Trail or Enduro Hardtail.
This is the original “Mullet Bike”, and though we trademarked Mullet, the term became so popular in the industry that it’s now a slang terminology used to describe all mixed wheel bikes.
These bikes are stable, nimble and most important, they are fast. Aside from their versatility, they are difficult to go over the handlebars because of the geometry. And because the front center axle sits higher than the rear center axle. So you’re theoretically lifting up on the handlebars even when you’re not.
They turn like you’re on rails, they jump like a BMX bike, they accelerate like a road bike and they fit like a glove. You’ll instantly feel like you’re sitting inside the bike as opposed to being on top of it.
If these bikes weren’t as good as they indeed are, then we wouldn’t have come out with them and more importantly, we wouldn’t ride them for ourselves.
For a limited time, I’m offering these frames on the MWI website with free shipping.
They’re available in 3 different finishes and 4 different sizes and as a frame only.
They’ll come with a rear axle, 1 pack of black Cable Buddies and 1 Fork Cork.
